Scheduling and publishing depend on the type of your Instagram account:
Business accounts
You can publish or schedule to Instagram normally when you use an Instagram business account and post picture(s) or a video (or Reel) at a time. This is also called direct posting or automatic publishing.
Direct posting requires:
- a Facebook Page to be connected to your Instagram business account.
- you to enable direct posting in Hookle if you haven’t done it yet.
Due to Instagram limitations, Reels that are scheduled for direct posting can't include a cover image or audio, unless it's your original audio. However, you can add the cover image on Instagram app after you published the Reel.
Creator and personal accounts (and special cases)
Instagram has strict limitations on posting, and in some cases (personal/creator accounts, or more than 25 published posts a day) you cannot use direct posting. In these cases, you need to have the Instagram app installed to be able to post using Hookle. Install Instagram now on Google Play or App Store.
Learn how to publish when direct posting is not available:
Note that you might need to reconnect your Instagram account if you switched your account type (e.g. business account to personal).
1. Publish now
Select the Instagram account and create your post in Hookle. Click Next -> Publish now.
Your caption (the text) is copied to the clipboard. If you have multiple Instagram accounts, make sure the right one is selected in the Instagram app before you click Continue!
The Instagram app is opened. If you are posting multiple images, long-press the first image and select the images. Paste the copied caption to the text area and click top right Share (or OK icon).
You are done! Your post has now been published.
2. Schedule (with notifications)
Select the Instagram account and create your post in Hookle. Click Next -> Schedule and set a date and time. Now your post has been scheduled.
When it's time to publish, you will receive a notification "Time to post to Instagram!" Click the notification. Your caption (the text) is copied to the clipboard. If you have multiple Instagram accounts, make sure the right one is selected in the Instagram app before you click Continue!
The Instagram app is opened. If you are posting multiple images, long-press the first image and select the images. Paste the copied caption to the text area and click Share.
You are done! Your post has now been published.
